This includes a one-piece swimsuit. Girls wearing two piece suits cannot comfortably practice dives, flip turns, or speed work. Boys should wear swim jammers or speedo. Swim shirts are not recommended for either gender. 5) For our meets, we will use an APP called Meet Mobile. It will cost a few dollars but is a great way to track your swimmer's progress. We are aware that it did not work for time trials but we are hoping that the update we have installed will work appropriately for the first meet and each one thereafter. 6) Summer practice schedule will be sent next weekend. The 13+ swimmers will be split into 2 groups by the coaches. If your swimmer has a specific need, have them discuss with their coach. 7) Dog tags - If your swimmer did not pick up their dog tags during time trials, please see the Bead Tent after check in tomorrow, by the front gate. Our amazing Bead family has all the necklaces that weren't picked up at time trials. 8) Fins - If your swimmer has fins, please bring them to each practice. Coaches are using them as the need arises for stroke technique and efficiency. See you on the pool deck!

Age group parents will ensure your child gets to each race. What will my child swim? * Time trials is a chance to get a time for every event. Every swimmer will swim short Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and one heat of each age group will swim IM. (This is to save time and to limit the number of DQ's.) When will my child swim? * As soon as possible! Our goal is to get everyone checked in at 7am and start as early as we can. AM and PM timers, please be listening for your timer meeting to be announced over the loudspeaker. It will occur during warm-ups. How long will the meet last? * We are hoping to be done by 2pm but that is contingent on computer cooperation, parent volunteer readiness, and swimmer speed. Can I leave the meet with my swimmer? * No. Please do not leave the meet without checking in with a Coach and Age Group Parent. This is what will be required for every meet. Exception: 6&Unders may leave after Backstroke is finished Is there a snack bar? * No. We do not offer a snack bar. We will have the street taco vendor arriving around 10am. They offer tacos and quesadillas and are cash only. Kona Ice will arrive around 10:30 so bring your reusable cups if you have them! What do I do when I arrive? * Please help us set-up the meet! We need pop-ups pulled out, tables, blocks, chairs for timers. Many hands make light work and the sooner it gets set-up, the sooner we can start! We ask that parents of U6-10 aged children help set-up while 11-18 help us tear down at the end. See you on the pool deck! There will be a taco/quesadilla truck available; Kona Ice will be available • Volunteering is required so that there is balance for all parents to be able to watch some of the meets and support the community. o Buy-outs will not be available this year. You will be required to volunteer at every meet your child is in, if you cannot volunteer for extraordinary circumstances, please speak to Hillary and she will figure out a way for you to contribute. o Volunteer positions discussed o Stroke and Turn – if you are interested in volunteering for this, they would like you to attend a one-time training so you can participate in this judging. Dates will be provided. WWW.OVTS.CLUB – Website - strongly encourage parents to buy team suits; use the measurement guide online; thinking of doing personalized swim caps also available online Ice-cream social – 6/29 Fundraisers – 2 planned; pays for equipment (kickboards, lane lines, league fees etc.); • 05/11 dine-out night at Dad’s kitchen 4-8pm; No need to tell them you’re with the swim team, just show up and eat and 10% of sales from food goes to the swim team • 06/14 – swimmers swim as many laps as possible and raise money with donations; can volunteer to count the laps that the kids do. There are lap winner prizes, t-shirt competition where the kids get to design the shirts and then the coaches pick the “best” shirt Communication • Mostly through email • Some hard copies will be handed out on the pool deck at the earliest second week of practice; after adjustment for team membership changes is done • Add your name to the website if you are having trouble getting emails and there is also a Facebook page • If you use Gmail, you can subscribe to the email and get the Google calendar downloaded Water Safety Check: For kids new to the team, there will be a water safety check. There is a requirement for kids to be able to swim one full length of the pool.
